Welcome to the official page for the Habib Ul Qur’aan International Hifz Qur’aan Competition 2026, taking place in the United Kingdom. This major international Qur’aan memorisation event brings together Huffaz, Qur’aan students, Qira’ah specialists and reciters from around the world.

Our aim is to rekindle the love of the Qur’aan in hearts and minds through excellence in memorisation, Tafseer, Qira’ah and Tarteel.

Competition Categories

Below are all the categories for Hifz, Tafseer, Qira’ah and Tarteel.

Category A1
Full Hifz (1–30 Juz’)
Max Age 20

For young Huffaz who have memorised all 30 Juz’ of the Qur’an. Judging focuses on accuracy, memorisation strength, page familiarity and overall Tajwīd quality.

Category A2
Full Hifz (1–30 Juz’)
Max Age 21–30

For adult competitors who have completed full Hifz. Designed for older students wishing to compete at an international standard with full Qur’an recall.

Category B
20 Juz'
Max Age 18

For participants who have memorised up to 20 Juz’. Ideal for teens still completing their Hifz journey but confident and strong in their memorisation.

Category C
10 Juz'
Max Age 15

This category supports younger children who have memorised the first 10 Juz’. Great for developing confidence and strengthening early memorisation.

Category D
5 Juz'
Max Age 12

A beginner-level category for children who have memorised the 5 Juz’. Focus on clean recitation, correct Tajwīd and memorisation stability.

Category E
Tafseer (Full Qur’an)
Max Age 40

Participants recite a Qur’an page from memory and provide a brief commentary in Arabic or English based on Tafseer Al-Muyassar. This category highlights memorisation, understanding and communication of Qur’anic meanings.

Category F
Full Qur’an in Any Qira’ah (Dialect)
Max Age 21–30

For advanced students who have memorised the entire Qur’an and recite in any recognised Qira’ah such as Warsh, Qālūn or ad-Dūrī. Judging focuses on mastery of the chosen mode and technical precision.

Category G
Tarteel (Mujawwad Recitation)
Max Age 40

A 10-minute recitation from any place in the Qur’an. Judges assess tone, clarity, emotional delivery, pacing and strong Tajwīd. Ideal for reciters gifted in Tarteel and spiritual expression.
